Planning a Motorhome Route: 6 Steps to a Relaxed Trip
The best trips start with good planning – but please, without hours of hunting around. In six steps you'll have a route that suits your motorhome and your travel pace.
1. Destination & rough direction
Set your rough destination and region. Less is often more: better to really enjoy one region than to rush on every day.
2. Enter your vehicle dimensions
Enter height, weight, length and width – that way the route avoids bridges that are too low and unsuitable roads right from the start (more on this: Motorhome navigation & dimensions).
3. Stages at a comfortable length
Plan short daily stages (many people happily drive just 150–300 km) and leave a buffer. Camper trips thrive on the spontaneous stops along the way.
4. Pitches along the route
Find an overnight spot for each stage – ideally with alternatives nearby in case one is full. In Muvano you can see pitches, campsites and rest areas right on the map, with photos and facilities.
5. Plan in water/waste & shopping
